Apple has officially announced details about the annual WWDC conference which usually takes place between June 5 and June 9.

At the WWDC conference, Apple meets with app developers and presents new versions of the operating system for desktop, mobile and other types of devices. Usually Apple also offers beta versions for testing so developers have the right tools to build compatible apps. This year however Apple decided to change the venue from San Francisco to San Jose, which is closer to Apple’s headquarters.

Rumor has it that Apple might unveil the new iPhone 8 this summer to mark the 10th anniversary since the launch of the first iPhone. Maybe Apple is thinking of giving us more details about the iOS 11 and also to unveil the new iPhone 8, which might arrive on the market after the WWDC conference.

Usually, Apple’s new products arrive on the market approximately two weeks after they are officially presented so it’s possible to see the new iPhone 8 on the market by the end of June of 2017.

According to Apple, the change of venue is justified by the fact that the McEnery Convention Center is just 5 minutes away from Apple’s headquarters. ThisĀ  means that this year we might see more Apple employees attending the conference so users might get even more and detailed information regarding iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS.

San Jose is also more accessible than San Francisco, especially for independent app developers. Considering the fact that housing and board costs are higher in San Francisco, the fact that the WWDC conference is taking place in San Jose this year might attract even more people.

In case you’re wondering Apple has only changed the venue and not the ticket price, which remains the same: $1599, so you have to pay quite a decent amount in order to attend. I’ve always wondered why Apple is charging so much but oh well.

Are you going to attend the WWDC conference this year in San Jose ?
