It will take a while until the new iPhone arrives on the market, but we have information and renders that provide some valuable clues regarding the iPhone 8.
So far we’ve seen things that suggest the new iPhone might come with a curved OLED display, but also an inferior bezel that will not contain Touch ID. A new concept photo that was released by iDrops shows us that the new iPhone 8 will be very similar with the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone.
The iDrops website created this image using a prototype based on suggestions from someone inside Apple. The design of the iPhone 8 is very similar with the design of the Galaxy S8. Just like the Galaxy S8, the new iPhone 8 – according to the concept – will not come with a physical Home button so the screen seems to be very big with a very thin bezel on all four sides.
Also, the fingerprint reader is located on the back, under the Apple logo. Another change that can be seen in the photo is the layout of the dual cameras system, which will be displayed one under another, vertically, and not horizontally as they are displayed now.
iDrops suggests that the iPhone 8 will come with a metallic back cover to make it even stronger. Previous rumors mentioned the back will be made out of glass. The display of the new iPhone 8 will apparently be an OLED 2.5D edge-to-edge panel.
Also, we know that Apple is working on a facial recognition technology which might remove the need of a traditional home button. This is another change we’ve already see at the Galaxy S8 smartphone.
